DESCRIPTION: The gullet, or larynx, is trimmed free of tonsil, salivary glands, and hinge bone. The windpipe is removed from the gullet which is then split and flushed of foreign material. The yield per head for gullets is 1.0 pound per 1000 pounds of weight.
PACKAGING: Gullets are lightly denatured with liquid charcoal and packed in even weight sixty pound boxes which measure 21-1/2" x 16" x 6". The carton should be one which has been approved for use with inedible products. The side of the carton should be labeled "Inedible Beef Gullets" and the carton top should be strapped securely in place.
